Blackie & Fan Fan Finally Engaged

After he proposed to Christine Fan (Fan Fan) in February, Blackie Chen finally held an engagement ceremony today. The couple invited 40 family members to the ceremony and along with the event, they also celebrated birthday for Fan Fan's mother, who turned 62. After the ceremony, Blackie shared his thoughts and photos on Weibo, thanking everyone's blessings and praising his fiancee was very beautiful.

The now engaged couple have been dating for 10 years. They met each other in variety show "Guess Guess Guess" and Blackie, who was a temporary host, fell in love with Fan Fan immediately. There was one time he wanted to give flowers to her, but because he did not know which unit she lived, he ended up putting a flower in every mailbox.

Blackie expressed he is not quite used to calling his father-in-law "dad." "I haven't call someone my dad for more than 10 years. From now on, I have another person who I can call him 'dad,'" he said with a laugh.

The couple expressed they thought of holding their wedding in March of next year, however, everything is not set. As for their good friend Barbie Hsu is holding her wedding in the same month, Blackie expressed they are willing to delay theirs to accommodate Barbie. "We've been together for 10 years. Already 10 years, actually it doesn't matter to postpone our wedding a month or so," he said.

TVB Anniversary Feature: Charmaine Sheh

Charmaine Sheh Sze Man (佘詩曼) is definitely one of the most successful TVB "fa-dans" in 2000s.

The actress joined TVB after winning 3rd place in 1997's Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Her first series is Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (1999). But her acting was criticized in the beginning, especially her "little chicken voice" (squeaky voice).

She then spent half of a year to try to remove the "little chicken voice" and kept improving her acting. Her improvement is notable in many series, such as her first role as the lead in Return of the Cuckoo (2000) where she won that year's "My Favorite TV On-screen Couple" with Julian Cheung, Country Spirit (2001), and War and Beauty (2004).

Not only she can play serious roles, she is actually not bad in comedies. Word Twisters' Adventures (2007) with Jordan Chan, You're Hired (2009) with well-known comedian Dayo Wong, and the recent Can't Buy Me Love (2010), she proved her wide-range performance in different series over these years.

In 2006, her acting is acknowledged as she won TV Queen (Best Actress) with series Maiden's Vow, where she played 4 generations of women in the drama. This year her role as 3 Princess in Can't Buy Me Love once again made her one of the top favorites for TV Queen. Charmaine or Sheren this year?

Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo Are Engaged

Former "Newlyweds" star Nick Lachey and girlfriend of 4 years Vanessa Minnillo are engaged.

"We're excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together," the couple confirmed.

"They're so happy, doing great," a source adds. "Thrilled about it."

According to another source, Lachey proposed with a platinum, asscher cut diamond with trapezoids on the side from Bader & Garrin.

The two began dating in 2006, following his highly-publicized divorce from Jessica Simpson.

Though they briefly split last summer, they got back together a short time later.

The True Beauty host recently told Parade their relationship has lasted all this time because they openly communicate.

"You have to talk through everything," she said. "We talk daily about things that upset us. It's about having a sounding board because if you hold in all your thoughts, dreams, anger and anxiety than you're only hurting yourself."

She said they have no plans to do a reality show a la MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which caused strain in Lachey's relationship with Simpson, 30.

Chatting on Good Day Philadelphia last year, the Sing-Off host -- whose show was just renewed for a second season -- said he was "happy" with Minnillo, whom he described as "a very smart girl. She's far smarter than I!"

Lachey and Minnillo have another reason to celebrate: They both have birthdays Nov. 9.

Lachey will be 37; Minnillo, 30.
